Don't Forget your Passport and Stars and Stripes

We have had a great start to the week! On Monday, the theme was Don't Forget your Passport and on Tuesday the theme was Stars and Stripes. These are some pictures of what we did during each day. Don't forget to check Shutterfly to see more pictures!

 Monday: Don't Forget your Passport
The campers create their own passport and traveled around the world. The campers went to Australia, Egypt, and Italy.  In Australia the campers played a game called Skippyroo Kangaroo. Then the campers went to Egypt by going to the library and learning about the Library of Alexandria, which is one of the 7 wonders of the world. At the library the campers were able to see many different kinds of amphibians that live around Deerfield. The campers also traveled to Italy and visited Mount Vesuvius. They were able to make their own replica of Mount Vesuvius and watch it erupt. At the end of the day the campers played a fun game called Treasure Hunters.

The campers began to celebrate the 4th of July by creating a patriotic wind sock, 4th of July math art, and played Alaskan Kickball. The campers were also able to enjoy some time in the computer lab. During reading time the campers read some books of their choice and had group read where counselors read a couple of 4th of July themed stories.
