WELCOME

Welcome,

The summer day camp staff is excited for a fun filled summer and we cannot wait to get started. We have a different theme every day of camp where your children will get to explore all types of fun activities. We want this to be a great experience for all kids in camp. This year at camp there are some returning staff members and new faces.

Some important reminders!!!

-          We do not provide lunch for your children. Please bring a bagged lunch that does not need refrigeration.
-          We suggest your child brings a backpack to camp every day.  Some things we suggest you put in there:  swimsuit, towel, lunch, socks, and sweatshirt/light jacket for chilly mornings.  You will also be asked to bring sunscreen & bug spray for campers to use throughout the summer.
-          Tuesdays are SWIMMING days.  Please don’t forget to send your child with a swimsuit & towel
-          Wednesdays are BOWLING days.  Please remember your child should wear socks & tennis shoes every day.  It wouldn’t hurt to keep an extra pair of socks in your child’s backpack for bowling days.
-          Also, please do not drop your child off before the 7:30 start time. We will not be responsible for your child until camp starts.
-          In saying that, please remember to pick your child up by 5:30.  If there is a late pick up there will be additional fees. 
o   5-15 minutes late = $5/child
o   Each additional 1-15 minutes late = $5/child

Signing in and out:
-          We will have a sign in table that each child needs to go to every morning they come.  Also they need to go to this table and sign out when they leave.  Most times, we will have a counselor at this table to give the kids reminders about daily activities.
-          If we are off site, we will post our whereabouts and contact number on the door of the school.
-          If your camper needs to walk/bike to or from camp, please provide DCC with a signed note in advance that we can keep on file. 
-          Parents please feel free to always talk to us about how the day went or any other feelings or concerns you have.

Discipline- It is important for all parents to be aware of the guidelines for discipline at camp.

-          One or two minor incidents will result in missing out on various activities at camp.
-          Three or more in one day will result in an email home and/or face-to-face meetings with camper & parent.
-          If poor behavior continues additional punishments will be discussed as a staff.  This could be staying home for a day of camp, or having to leave early from camp one day, or missing a field trip. Field trips are a privilege and if behavior is poor, campers may be asked to miss the field trip that week.

Major Discipline problems:
The following will result in an immediate call to a parent and removal from camp for the day (or more if Staff feels it is necessary).

o   Fighting
o   Stealing, Vandalizing or destroying camp property
o   Threatening/intentionally causing injury to staff and or other campers

A second major incident will result in a one week suspension from camp.

A third major incident will result in the camper being removed from camp for the remainder of the summer.

Payments:
Your deposit for camp can applied at any time.  All payments for camp are due the FRIDAY before each week.  Don’t forget to include your payments for Sunshine Club!  Occassionally, you will get a reminder at camp letting you know where your balance is and how much is due that week, but if you have any questions, please email Julie (julieschwenn@yahoo.com).




We look forward to making this a fun and safe summer for all participants.  We can’t wait to meet each and every one of you and spend our summer building our camp family!
