Anything Goes and Record Breaking Day

On Tuesday the campers were able to pick out activities that they wanted to do since the theme was Anything Goes. They got to play bingo and choose a prize when they won. During Math the campers were given choices of math games to play. In the gym they were able to play whatever games they wanted to. During craft time the campers made mosaics of their choosing. The theme on Wednesday was Record Breaking day. The campers were given challenges to complete and records to break. In the computer lab the campers played logic games and recorded their best scores. They were put into teams to complete the penny boat challenge, an obstacle course, and a telephone challenge. Our camera died during the day so we could not take pictures of some of the challenges.

Our field trip tomorrow is to the Lake Ripely Lanes and Lake Ripely Beach. Don't forget: a swimsuit, a towel, and a pair of socks. Also, the campers need to wear their camp shirts. We are hoping to have a blast!

Read-a-thon & Pajama day and Game Show Mania!

Friday's theme was Read-a-thon and pajama day. The campers enjoyed reading in their pajamas and going to the splash park! At the end of the day we watched Oz the Great and Powerful and ate a Wizard of Oz themed snack. Monday was Game Show Mania! To start off the day we went to the library to watch the Magic Morgans. Many of the campers were able to be a part of the show. During the day the campers made their own game boards and played minute to win it games in the gym.

This is the last week of camp! We have been having a blast and are looking forward to going out with a bang!  

To the Extreme and Field Trip to the Dane County Fair

These past two days have been filled with a lot of fun activities and events. Wednesday was To the Extreme day. The campers played a couple different games in the gym, made exploding art work, and explored on National Geographic For Kids (http://kids.nationalgeographic.com/kids/) and Edheads (http://www.edheads.org) in the computer lab. On Thursday the camp went on a field trip to the Dane County Fair. The campers saw a lot of different farm animals, art work, and bounced in a bounce house.

Surprise! Special Event and Imaginarium

This Monday's theme was Surprise! Special Event. The surprise for the campers was having winter in July! Campers were able to create their own winter themed ornaments and also participate in a snow ball fight! The surprise event that the library held was Critter Man! The campers learned about the earth and the benefits of recycling. Tuesday's theme, Imaginarium, had campers thinking outside the box. Campers made their own Island out of the first initial of their name. They were able to use their imagination to create different types of things that would be on their very own island. During computer time we worked on math facts with the online cites : Math playground (www.mathplayground.com) and ABCya numbers (www.abcya.com)

Color Wars

This past Friday the campers participated in Color Wars! Campers were put into different colored teams and competed in multiple events. They were able to create their own banner and team mascots, played tug of war, ran relay races, and competed in turf wars. At the end of the day the campers watched Wreck It Ralph and ate pretzels with colorful cream cheese dip.

We are looking forward to this coming week! Our field trip is to the Dane County Fair. Also, we are finishing up the book Wizard of Oz on Friday and then watching Oz the Great and Powerful. On Friday the theme is Read-A-Thon and Pajama day, the campers are welcome to wear their Pajamas!
